In September of 2003 Adam Bold and Scott Revare formed Smart401k to help individual investors like you increase their odds of success in their retirement plan investing.

Our Founders

Our investment professionals are lead by Smart401k Chief Investment Officer, Adam Bold. Adam is the host of the nationally syndicated The Mutual Fund Show, broadcast every Saturday throughout the U.S.  Adam’s investment expertise makes him a frequent guest on national TV financial shows.  Smart401k uses the investment strategies and philosophy Adam pioneered with The Mutual Fund Store®.

Adam is a 4th generation accountant, and lifetime Kansas City resident.  He and his wife and 3 daughters reside in Leawood Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.  He is an avid car enthusiast and golfer.

CEO Scott Revare’s background includes 18 years as a leader of the North American Financial and Human Resources practice for Accenture, the world’s largest management and technology consulting firm.   Scott was an expert for Accenture in developing and implementing major financial programs and education in Fortune 500 organizations.  Scott is frequently quoted in the financial media due to his expertise on employer retirement plan investing.

Scott was born in New York, but grew up in the Kansas City area.  Scott lives a few blocks away from Adam, in Leawood, Kansas with his wife, three sons, and Labradoodles Kramer and Elaine.  Scott is an avid Tennis player.

Our Advisors

We’re very careful about the advice you get. 

Adam and Scott, along with all of our investment advisors, are duly licensed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. 

A key to consideration for employment with Smart401k is an advisor's demonstrated skills in directly helping clients. All of our advisors have come to Smart401k from from top national retirement plan providers. Once accepted, Smart 401k advisors are required to become Chartered Mutual Fund Counselors.  (You’ll recognize the CMFC designation when they are awarded the designation.)  All our advisors are fully trained on our fund selection and allocation methods. 

Even with this background and training each advisor goes through an apprentice period with a more experienced advisor before making recommendations on their own.

We only provide advice for retirement savings plans.  Since we don’t work for mutual fund companies or brokerage houses, you never need to worry about whose interests we serve.
